Spine Complexity System

Neurophysiologische Komplextherapie

Life is movement – movement is life

We regard holistic thinking in physical therapy and movement therapy as essential. The particular emphasis of the Spine Complexity System is a movement-pattern that regards the human body as a unit and the spine as its central porter.

Spine Complexity System adapts principles of Yoga, Qigong, Tai Chi, TCM and elements of ballet, gymnastics and swimming and balances modern movement-concepts with far eastern knowledge.

The equipment has been designed to complement the human body. Its unique wooden construction allows soft three-dimensional, circle- and spiral-shaped movements that impart a very new action-radius. Under reduced gravity a gentle mobilisation and extension of the spine, shoulder, hip- and pelvic joints is accomplished. Muscles and fascia are relaxed all the while the musculature of the cervical-, thoracic- and lumbar-spine is effectively stabilized.

All movement-patterns are natural, free of turbulences and of interruptions and are synchronized with corresponding rhythmic breathing-patterns. Aim of the Spine Complexity System is to complete the functional movement-patterns and to stimulate all anatomical- and physiological structures with the highest possible control and effectiveness. SCS encourages a new perception and realization of the body and coinstantaneous improves flexibility, coordination, strength and stability of the spine.

Why is the Spine Complexity System so effective?

The system endorses constant resistance without straining the joints

  • Ensures total movement-freedom
  • Enables three-dimensional movement-patterns
  • Movement-barriers are expanded with minimal axial charges and multiple joint-articulation
  • Combines concentric and eccentric workout of agonist and antagonist
  • Demands cohort muscle-chains instead of just single isolated muscles
  • The unique system acclimatizes to the individual body and is suitable for all ages, shapes and genders

What are the effects of the Spine Complexity System?

  • Auto-mobilization and extension of the vertebral spine

  • Expansion and strengthening of the back musculature

  • Improvement of symmetry and static of the body

  • Strengthening of chords and ligaments of the joints

  • Development and improvement of strength, flexibility and coordination

  • Adjustment of off-balances and stresses in muscles, chords and fascia

  • Stimulation of the cardio-vascular system and the metabolism

  • Activation of deep tissue and the viscera

  • Activation of body-meridians – promotion of energy flow

  • Decomposition of stress and strains

The Spine Complexity System has successfully been applied at the Alpha Klinik for more than 12 years. The system can particularly be recommended as early functional treatment (following surgery or in acute cases), because it softly reduces the burdens of gravity, resembling therapy in water. It is an adequate rehabilitation for spinal diseases as it allows a strain-reduced mobilisation and stabilisation of the lumbar spine.

What are the indications for the Spine Complexity System?
