Australia’s national squad goalkeeper Michael Petkovic operated by dr. Hoogland
Australia’s qualification match against West Samoa for the FIFA World Championships next year in Germany turned out to be Michael Petkovic’s last one in the goal so far. He certainly is one of the most talented football players from Down Under.
After his transfer to Turkey three years ago the goalie has been playing for Sivaspor as from this season.
Three months ago he noticed the first symptoms but chose to ignore them. They only bothered him during training sessions, but later also in walking and lying. Conservative treatment did not make things better. By the end of August Michael decided to consult dr. Hoogland.
A hernia was diagnosed and an endoscopic removal suggested. It did not take Michael long to make up his mind: right on the next day he was operated and successfully: the pain was gone immediately!
In 10 days already he can start the (moderate) training again.
