Professor Juergen Toft helps 70-year-old Terrence White to go back to his passion of mountain climbing after surgery three years ago that preserved his knee joint through biological repair known as abrasion arthoplasty with osteotomy. Three years after this procedure Mr Terence White climbed Mount Grossglockner, Austria’s highest mountain.
Grossglockner
In the fall of 2004 Mr. Terrence White, a 70-year old Englishman who now lives in France, underwent abrasion arthroplasty and osteotomy on his leftknee. Before he came to Alpha Klinik he was told by several orthopedic surgeons in the UK that only total knee joint replacement would help him get rid of his knee pain. Being an avid mountain climber he decided to turn to Alpha Klinik to go for a biological solution for his knee.

In September 2007 Mr. White came for a routine check-up and the knee was found in excellent condition three years down the line, with near normal x-ray and MRI findings as seen in the images presented in this news item. After having climbed the Grossglockner in Austria, Mr. White is climbing even higher Mountains in the French Alps where he now lives. Prof. Toft and his team wish Mr. White many more mountains to climb and a wonderful and healthy life.
