When chief surgeon Prof. Toft´s son, Philip Toft, married Russian Miss Universe, Oksana Fedorova (www.oksana-fedorova.ru), he must have overdone the dancing part as he tore his medial meniscus in his right knee, leaving him handicapped with severe pain. When the MRI revealed the meniscal tear, it was clear that he had to undergo surgery.
The arthroscopic intervention was performed on 23 August 2007, with Dr. Vilas Boas, deputy chief surgeon of the knee department, operating on his own boss. As expected, both the surgery itself and the anaesthesia by Prof. Hargasser were completed succesfully. Prof. Toft had climbed on the operating table after his own full day´s surgical program. His words when he woke up from the anaesthesia: "Fantastic team and a great hospital - to be recommended". |
