33. Mr. W.K.: A 54-year-old plumber from Holland who had surgery on his left knee during the '60s to correct a knock knee that resulted in an over-correction and subsequently arthritis.
The 54-year-old Dutch plumber Mr. K had surgery on his left knee during the '60s to correct a knock knee. The procedure resulted in an over-correction and led to a severe case of arthritis of the inner side of the joint. An unsuccessful arthroscopy in Belgium showed that there was no cartilage any more in the affected area. In December 2002, Mr. K also underwent an axial realignment. These images were taken in May 2003 and show the excellent healing, as well as the re-emergence of the medial joint line. The patient has fully recovered and recently also had surgery on his right knee.
