32. Mr. K.K.: A 60-year-old freelancer who had already undergone 4 unsuccessful knee operations and more recently even cycling caused him discomfort.
The 60-year-old freelancer Mr. K had already undergone 4 unsuccessful operations on his left knee and had also been told that a knee joint replacement was his only option - which he was less than thrilled about. More recently, even cycling caused him discomfort. An abrasion plus osteotomy was performed in November 2002. These images, which show superb cartilage regeneration, are from the follow-up surgery in May 2003. Mr. K has now fully recovered and can pursue light physical activities again.
