28. Mr. J. v.S.: A 45-year-old CEO from Holland who underwent ligament surgery in 1986 and 1987 and was no longer able to play sports.
The 45-year-old Dutch CEO Mr. v.S. underwent surgery in 1986 and 1987 on the frontal ligament of this knee and was subsequently still able to play field hockey - albeit with some discomfort. However, during the last few years, it became impossible for him to play any sports. As has been the case with many other patients, the only recommendation Mr. v.S. was given was to have an artificial knee joint implanted. The patient had an abrasion with osteotomy in August 2002. The secondary surgery, performed in April 2003, showed excellent results - as these images clearly demonstrate.
