24. Mr. R.T.: A 51-year-old sales engineer who had an unsuccessful arthroscopy in 1999 and was supposed to receive a prosthesis, which he felt he was too young for.
The 51-year-old sales engineer Mr. T had undergone an unsuccessful arthroscopy in 1999 and was supposed to receive a unicompartmental knee joint replacement - a procedure that both he and his doctors thought he was too young for. His knee was almost always swollen and painful. The abrasion and osteotomy were carried out in May 2003. The follow-up surgery in November 2003 showed excellent results - during the arthroscopy as well as on the x-rays. The patient no longer experiences any pain or swelling whatsoever.
