22. Mr. U.S.: A 50-year-old teacher who had received x-ray treatment in his youth, which negatively impacted on his growth and led to the development of a bow leg misalignment and ultimately arthritis.
The 50-year-old teacher Mr. S received x-ray treatment for a blood clot in his youth, which had a negative impact on his growth and this in turn led to the development of a bow leg misalignment. Over time, this developed into severe arthritis and significantly handicapped him in the pursuit of his profession. The patient underwent an abrasion plus osteotomy in April 2003. These images were taken during the second operation in November 2003 and show excellent cartilage regeneration, as well as the new inner medial line. Mr. S plans on teaching again without any restrictions whatsoever, as well as taking up light athletic activities.
