57-year-old engineer and wife of a doctor Mrs. B had suffered for years from pain in both knee joints and was unable to play any sports at all anymore. As she sits when she is at work, Mrs. B was at least able to avoid professional restrictions. However, giving up all sports was not something she was willing to accept, so she was looking for a solution to her problem, especially since both of her knees were affected. She underwent surgery on her right knee in March 2002 and, since she was very satisfied with the results, had her left knee operated on in April 2003. These images are from the follow-up operation on that knee and show the cartilage regeneration and the new inner medial joint line. The results on the previously operated right knee, by the way, looked just as good. In the meantime, both of Mrs. B's knee joints are pain-free and she has resumed her athletic pursuits. |
