15. Mr. J.D.: A previously operated 64-year-old banker from England who had pain in his right knee for years and was no longer able to play any type of sport.

The 64-year-old English banker Mr. D had suffered from pain in his right knee for years and more recently wasn't even able to play golf without pain, let alone any other type of sport. An arthroscopy performed in England made no improvement to his condition at all. The only recommendation he was given - as is the case with many patients - was an artificial knee joint. The axial realignment was performed in February 2003. The following images were taken during the follow-up operation in July 2003 and indicate the excellent replacement cartilage, as well as the reappeared inner medial joint line. Mr. D can now play golf again without pain and wants to take up skiing again in the winter.
