63-year-old businessman Mr. S used to play tennis, but switched to golf because of knee problems. Now, due to chronic arthritis, this alternative was no longer possible either. Mr. S wasn't offered any real solution except for an artificial knee. He wanted to avoid that at all costs and therefore decided to undergo an abrasion plus osteotomy, which was carried out in October 2001. The following images were taken during the second procedure, which was performed in September 2003, and show the new cartilage as well as the normalisation of the inner medial joint line. |
