7. Mrs. N: A 71-year-old housewife with a ca. 5-year history of problems, including severe difficulties with everyday activities.
71-year-old housewife Mrs. N had a ca. five-year history of pain and swelling that were interfering with everyday activities to an intolerable extent. Although in terms of age an artificial knee joint might have been an option, the patient wanted to preserve her knee. Abrasion and osteotomy was performed in October 2002. At the time of the rescope and hardware removal, the following pictures were taken, which show excellent cartilage regrowth both arthroscopically and radiographically. The patient can manage the household again without external help and has no problems with the knee anymore.
