The diagram shows the results of over 2000 patients with Lumbar Spine surgery after 1 year - self evaluation.

By now we could analyse over N= 2000 patients with one year follow up. The questionnaires include international scores and are based on self evaluation of the patients.
Health
The question : After 1 year how satisfied are you with the result of your surgery?
93% of the patients said, that they felt much better and better, 4% reported an unchanged result and 3% got worse.
In case of a new disc herniation 93% of our patients would rely on the Hoogland Spine Center again.
VAS
The Visuel Analog Scale simply consitst two scales (one before and one after surgery). The patient marks the intensity of his pain. 0= no pain at all / 10 = unbearable pain

VAS Legan improvement of 6,37 points was achieved
VAS Back an improvement of 5,35 points was achieved
Numbness
81% of our patients preoperatively complained about numbness in the arms. One year after surgery 88% of these patients felt released from these symptoms. 58 % of this group felt absolutely no more numbness , 33% got much better, 7 % reported an unchanged result and 2 % got worse.
Career
53 % returned to their jobs within 1 month, 16% between 2-3 months and 25% between 4-6 months.
Sport
61% of the patients did sports on a regular basis before their surgery. Almost all of them could pick up their hobbies within 2 months again. 80% of these patients even with the same intensity and frequency. |
