By now we could analyse n= 298 patients with 2 years follow up. The questionnaires include international scores and are based on self evaluation of the patients.
Health
The question : How satisfied are you with the result of your surgery?
95% of the patients said, that they felt much better and better, 3% reported an unchanged condition and 2% got worse.
In case of a new disc herniation 96% of our patients would rely on the Hoogland Spine Center again.
Numbness
87%of our patients preoperatively complained about numbness in the arms. One year after surgery 88% felt released from these symptoms. 57 % of this group felt absolutely no more numbness , 31% got much better, 10 % reported an unchanged condition and 2 % got worse.
Career
Out of the still employed patients 42 % fully returned to their jobs after 1 month, 47% between 2-3 months and 11% between 4-6 months.
Sport
80% of the patients did sports on a regular basis before their surgery. Almost all of them could pick up their hobbies within 2 months. 81% even with the same intensity and frequency.
