35 year old Spanish patient Alejandro Arias Febles had suffered from chronic back pain for nearly 7 years before he underwent a disc abrasion surgery at the Alpha Klinik in February 2005.
This procedure, developed at the Alpha Klinik by Dr. Hoogland, has proven highly effective for cases with disc-degenerations and long lasting chronic back pain and is considered a good alternative to fusion procedures or artificial disc replacement. The endoscopic method removes the degenerated disc-core and abrades the vertebral endplates thus promoting the growth of a neo-nucleus and a re-hydration of the disc – as post-operative MRI images demonstrate. The operation is conducted in a safe local anaesthesia; patients can be mobilized just a few hours after operation, protected by a custom fitted back-brace.

I am the young man from Canary Island who arrived at the Alpha Klinik with a lot of hope to solve my disk problems. And I have to tell you that I never expected such success.
