Initial Clinical Results of the activ-L® Lumbar Total Disc Replacement:

A Prospective Study with 1 year follow-up.

Results

Between June 2004 and Febr. 2006, 26 patients with active L.
  • 21 patients (80%) with a follow-up of 12 months.
  • 21 single level cases 5 two-level cases.
  • Patients achieved significant and sustainable improvement.
  • Improvement was achieved for mono and bi-segmental levels
  • Significant improvements of back pain in VAS and ODI in 6 weeks
  • post-operatively maintained at a follow-up to 1.5 years
  • Leg pain significantly decreased a bit better
  • The average range of motion was 7.3 ° degrees
  • No hardware complications were notified during the period of follow-up
