Dr. Toft's key principles have become the Alpha Klinik's philosophy

Back in the early 1980s, my vision of creating what today is the Alpha Klinik was to offer the best possible surgical quality for the patient, combined with the best possible care and comfort.

Being a staunch believer in specialisation to the highest possible level, I focussed my surgical training and career exclusively on becoming a true knee specialist. My colleagues Dr. Hoogland and Drs. Dekkers from the Back Unit as well as Dr. Rose shoulder specialist and Dr. Vilas-Boas share this belief and have followed a similar path.

I think it is safe to say that we helped establish the concept of minimal-invasive surgery in our respective fields in Germany and Europe. In addition, the entire Alpha Klinik team goes to great lengths to create an environment where our patients are not only safe in the knowledge that they are receiving the best possible medical care, but also feel at home. All of these factors, together with our multinational and multilingual team from over 20 countries, have made the Alpha-Klinik what it is today - a leading knee, spine and shoulder surgery clinic that draws patients from over 60 countries.

Prof Toft volunteers to help Children from Ethiopia, joining forces with Karl Heinz Böhm’s project “Menschen für Menschen.

20.02.2008. On the occasion of his 80th birthday, a Charity evening was organised by Mr. Florian Haffa for Karl-Heinz Böhm´s famous project “Menschen für Menschen “ which helped Ethiopia´s development schemes in the past 26 years.

Professor Juergen Toft’s clinical study and experience of 20 years in joint-preserving techniques helped create a better insight and understanding in the orthopedic community.

Back to the mountains

26.09.2007. Professor Juergen Toft helps 70-year-old Terrence White to go back to his passion of mountain climbing after surgery three years ago that preserved his knee joint through biological repair known as abrasion arthoplasty with osteotomy. Three years after this procedure Mr Terence White climbed Mount Grossglockner, Austria’s highest mountain.
